About Action For Change Foundation-

Action For Change Foundation (AFCF) is an inheritor of Women Bangladesh started its journey in 1995 as a small community led non- government development organization leaded by a group of dedicated women social activists under the registration of Department of Women’s Affairs of Rangpur district located in the Northern Bangladesh. During this time the organization invested ts effort to empower local women entrepreneurs in situations over poverty to run their respective business effectively under rural areas of Rangpur. Women Bangladesh gave women entrepreneurs the skills and resources essential and market linkages to bring a sustainable change in their lives. Despite some important progress to change this in recent years, but women in Bangladesh like many other countries haven’t achieved economic equality with men, and women are still more likely than men to live in poverty. Later, we realised that economic empowerment alone would not solve the deep-rooted problem of women poverty as it is a complex issue and development must be tackled on various periphery. Gender inequality is one of the most pervasive forms of inequality and it denies women their voices, devalues their work and makes women’s position unequal to men. In 2019, the organization was reshaped into a comprehensive development programme along with long term approach that addressed the many causes of poverty under the banner of Action For Change Foundation.
